Shit, it finally happened.
I got one.
Yes, the beautiful Israeli girl who I mentioned in my previous post about Tantric supermen? Well, she is now my travelling partner. Oh yes.
Gili is her name and being spunky and beautiful and digging me is her game.
So, Full power. Twenty four hour. No toilet and no shower.
Turns out that when she was talking to the charming Englishman in the cafe - what she was actually doing was looking at me out of the corner of her eye. Trying to escape.
Makes this whole blog seem rather unreliable now doesn't it. Can you trust my judgement? When it comes to women, I think possibly not.
How did this happen? Well, at my farewell party in Dharamsala I got chatting to her. Turns out I'm hilarious. Plus when once, when I left and returned, she said the following words to me:
"You're gorgeous."
Hmm, maybe for once I read the signals right.
So when it came to leaving the party she informs me that her guesthouse has a curfew and she would be locked out.
Oh no. What to do?
Ahh, beautiful!
So, I'm in Rishikesh. And I'm grinning a lot.
Josh, Gili, myself and Hayley (a sweet Aussie girl I met in Pushkar) made the eleven hour bus ride from Dharamsala. I will miss that place and all the rather lovely people there. But hey the beat goes on, eh.
Bus ride was interesting. Set off at 6pm, had a couple of hours of conversation and then came the fun. This bus did not have a sleeper option (i.e. beds on the bus) so I spent the remaining hours during the cold cold night trying out various positions and different places on the bus just to try to get comfortable enough to trick my body into thinking that it was possible for sleep.
Not possible.
My original seat was next to a window that kept opening allowing large continuous gusts of freezing air to penetrate my face and body.
Wind penetration. Full power.
Well it is when you then keep travelling through the most evil, foul-smelling shit fields that have tickled the increasingly grotesque hairs in my nose. Eugh.
Later myself and G made a trek to the backseat to have a go at lying down.
Not possible.
The bus was travelling rather fast and when we hit a bump we were both vaulted a good foot or so into the air and unsurprisingly landed in a different position from take off.
Fuck that hurt. My back still reels. Good job I have just recruited someone to fix it for me.
(Sorry, I'm just being smug now. I must stop. This isn't going to last forever, clearly...)
Eventually we arrived at our destination, practically jetlagged, about four hours earlier than we had expected (nice surprise) and booked ourselves into a centrally located guesthouse.
And then we slept (a bit).
So Rishikesh. It is a beautiful place and is near to the start of the River Ganges. Already I have bumped into a few people from previous stops.
Dom, my previous travelling partner remains in the mountains. I hope to see him again later. Woah man!
So apologies, an exciting post written in dull manner. I am tired and would maybe like to go do something else with my evening.
And apologies to those I haven't got around to sending photos to. I will endeavour next time.
